In this blog I am going to share with you ‘4 Ways to Free Up Time’.
Time is something we all want more of isn’t it!
How many times do you catch yourself saying:
‘There aren’t enough hours in the day’
‘I wish I had more time’
‘I never get a minute to myself’
‘There’s not enough time’
‘I don’t have time’
Not having enough time means we are too busy!
The Problem with Being Too Busy
Being too busy is a problem for a number of reasons:
Missing out
When we are too busy we are missing out on precious time with our family and friends
Always feeling overwhelmed
Being too busy can make us feel overwhelmed, all of the time. When we can’t shake the feeling of overwhelm this can lead to chronic stress
No time for ourselves
If we are feeling overwhelmed and burnt out it is vital that we have time to take care of ourselves which we can’t do when we’re doing too much!
4 Ways to Free Up Time
1. Clear the clutter

You need to ‘Clear some of the Clutter’ from your life! We are all doing things that we don’t need to be doing.
We just don’t realise it because we don’t stop long enough to realise!
So, stop and take check.
Make a note of all the things you are doing every day and then ask yourself if you really need to be doing them
Is there something you can delegate to someone else?
Could you let go of something?
2. Set Boundaries

Creating boundaries makes it clear to everyone WHEN and WHAT you are available for.
They also outline how you want other people to treat you.
We can set boundaries for WORK life, HOME life and PERSONAL life
A boundary around your time is the perfect way to get some time to yourself!
3. Say No

When you are asked to do something, do you find yourself saying yes straight away?
Next time someone asks you to do something
Take a deep breath (to stop yourself immediately saying yes!)
If you find it hard to say no there and then, respond with ‘I’ll have to let you know’
This gives you chance go away and then respond at a later date.
It stops you going to your default setting of saying yes to everything
Saying no means you are not over committing to too many things which protects your time.
4. Ask For Help

Asking for help is one of the easiest ways to lighten your load!
So you have less to do
And more free time!
I know that asking for help isn’t easy
Remember that the whole point of asking for help is to lighten your load
Which affects your MOOD positively because guess what… you are LESS STRESSED because you have less to do!
TAKE ACTION TODAY!
Choose one of these 4 things and take action today
How about setting a new boundary – don’t forget to let everyone know what it is.
Perhaps you’ll start writing a list of all the things you are doing and letting some things go?
Maybe you’ll be really brave and say no to the next person who asks you to do something that you don’t want to do!
Whatever it is, remember that taking small steps is key to long term success
So choose one thing and then when you’ve done that, choose something else until you have the free time you have been looking for!
